a much needed rant, for lack of a better title

Grrr...

I'm not in a very good mood right now.

And, the best way for me to let off steam/emotion is to rant. So... Lets recap the last... oh, let's say, 30 or so hours, shall we?

It's after 2:00, Wednesday. I'm told to go down to the office because my mom's on the phone. I get on the phone in the office, I find out my grandpa's in the hospital. He was in a car accident. So... I have to miss MUN and go to the hospital with mom 'n Joyce.

I go to my locker, pack up my stuff, and head over to MUN to tell Ms Lang I can't be there. Stuart arrived at the same time as me, and we were the first 2 there, so I tell him what's going on, just in case Ms Lang's overly late or something. His jaw dropped. Yeah... a lot going on wrong in my family life lately... Rabiya shows up, and then Ms Lang, so I end up repeating everything to her, and telling her that I'm sorry I can't stay, and that I'm not going to be able to come next week at all. *breath*

So, then my mom comes with Joyce, and we go to emergency. We get there at 2:45 at the latest, Joyce and I leave at around 5. Most of that time spent in a waiting room, and although I had homework with me, I couldn't concentrate on it for various reasons. We find out that Grandpa's got 5 broken ribs on his right side, and there's no internal bleeding that they can see. He's not quite himself, but we thought it was shock at that point.

Aunt Wendy comes to pick us up, and Joyce and I go over to her place. I asked mom for the Sears tickets, and she thought I was going to try to go. I had already realized that I wouldn't be. I wanted the tickets because they had all the info on them, and the Williamses wanted the info, because they might come and see This Is For You, Anna. I want to go see that too, but as of now I have no way of getting there, because Joyce has a dance competition at the EXACT SAME TIME. (I don't go to all of Joyce's competitions, and I'm not going to that one, that's already been established...) So... we go over there, have dinner, and go home with Uncle Peter at around 7-ish.

I do some homework, take a bubble bath (to try to soak away a few problems... they're nice for that sometimes...) and then go to finish up homework. My mom tells my dad that one of the doctors think that they may have seen evidence of a minor stroke in a catscan, but nothing is for certain. I go to bed.

This morning, I wake up and do normal morning routine. I go to make a sandwitch for lunch, and find out that the whole wheat bread's gone mouldy, so I have to use white. (I prefer brown, though I'll eat white if I have to...) Mom drives me later than usual, and warns me not to miss the bus, as she probably won't be able to pick me up.

I get to school, go to my locker, and then my usual place on the 3rd floor. LAUren, LauREN, and Tamica are already there. I say hi, and go and sit down. I don't really say that much more because they're having a conversation, and I've got a lot on my mind. They pay little-no heed to me. I find gum on my books. I'm grossed out and try to get it off. I manage to do so. Green screen comes on, I've said a couple of words to Chantel as she came, but not that much else. I want to tell Jen about the stroke, but I don't see her, so I go to class.

We're given most of the period as a work period. I used it to finish some English rather than working on the task we were given. I explain what had happened to the girl that sits beside me. She feels sort of bad for me. The period ends. I go to TAP. I explain my situation again, this time to Aynsley, my locker buddy. She says she'll pray for him. I'm thankful to her for that. I head to the washroom quickly, and run into Amy (she's a really nice girl). I talk to her for a bit, and tell her about my grandpa. She's a nice girl... very outgoing. Plus, she plays a b flat instrument!!! (Trumpet... she's in Sr band, is in grade 12, and is/was trying to get me to hook up with her brother, because I was his #1 result on I-flurtz) I get back to TAP with one minute left, so I sit down, get my stuff, and then grab it again as green screen comes on.

I head to English, and get to laugh at Aaron's reaction to stick people. Again. I also find out that some of my answers to John's questions were wrong, but he gives me time to fix them, because he asked to see mine early. (That, and he's copied half of his answers from me for everyone else's stuff so far...)

Then, lunch. I take LauREN down to the office, talk to Clara for a little bit, and then Lauren comes up with a plan to skip, which I say no to but Clara decides to follow, and I get left alone again. At some point, I realize that I'm sitting on gum, which luckily I am able to get off easily. I go, get my stuff, and come back looking for Jen. I find her and tell her about the possible stroke. She's sad with me for a sec, and then goes back to reading random stuff that I'd rather not read... I have to say... I'm starting to feel a little out of place in that group.I'm just a little too "goodie-goodie" and shy to really meld... and... well... I don't know... I just feel like I really have little-no really close friends. Sometimes more than others. It's not that I'm not accepted (in some ways at least...) I'm just overly shy, and, I don't know... I just don't feel like I fit in. I rarely do, ever. Doesn't matter where. I just... don't.

Then, Musical Theater. I'm actually getting a higher mark than a number of people in this class. Not the highest, but better than some people... then again, I don't really get it. People are upset with their marks which are in the 80s. Grade 10 and 11 people in MT. What's the point to that? Sorry, I just don't really get it. An A's an A. I guess they just think their marks should be higher or something. Anyways... before class I end up talking with Ashley, had a nice little conversation with her, went over my grandfather again, and talked about camping. (We went camping with a group of people last summer, it was nice.) I do choreo that period, that was fun... we used shoes as pillows... and... well... yeah... we're almost done Merry Old Land of Oz now. Near the end of the period, I ask Stuart if anyone else showed up. A few did... 5 in total. Out of 10. I say that I feel sort of bad for having to miss, he says I shouldn't due to the circumstances, and then asks how my grandpa is. I go over it... he asks if the possible stroke was the cause of or was caused by the accident. I said it was caused by (the accident happened because the breaks failed). I would have liked to talk with him longer, but the screen changed and so we both needed to head for class *thinks back* darn... I could've walked'n'talked with him... he was headed in the same direction as me for the first half at least... let me guess... this has something to do with shyness again...

In Physics, Megan and I were finally able to test our cork motor's speed... it's the lowest so far but at least we have a speed now... and it's higher than most people's 1st scores were...

Right at the end of the period, as green screen comes on, I'm called down to Mrs Dawson's workroom, as is Sarah, though she doesn't show (probably went home during her 4th period spare). She asks me to put up a Marquis display for the Wizard of Oz, and says she can give me a ride home at 3:30. I figure I've already missed my bus... or will have by the time I'm ready at least... so I agree to do it. I finish right at 3:30, and get home at 3:55. I get in, grab my piano stuff, and am out the door again.

An hour later mom picks me up from piano, and we get home. Joyce starts cooking dinner, and half an hour later we eat and head out the door again, Joyce heading to the primary concert she's MC-ing, while mom and I head to another night at Sears.

On the way, mom says we may only end up staying for two shows. I say that I hope that isn't the case. We get there, and find that half the Sears people (from my school) are there at that time, and that a good number of actors and crew members from all the schools have decided to stay and watch the shows, thus filling up the seats a lot faster than normal. I also find out that (as I already had sort of figured out...) the Wright brothers were providing the pre/between show entertainment that night, doing duets on their violins. (Pretty music... will have to compliment one/both of them on it tomorrow...) I go and talk with the other Sinclair-onians... and then head in and sit with mom. The first play was okay... but dragged a lot... and had an overly spooky ending. Then, intermission. I go to hang out with Sinclair people again... and end up just standing around between groups, listening to the music and trying not to blush. I head back in for the second play. It's absolutely hilarious, and is about a director doing his first film, filming the final shot, when 3 cows get in the way. Soooo funny... One guy reminded me a lot of Miller... and a little of Jason... So... that one ended, and there was another intermission before the 3rd and final show for the night. Mom says she's had enough, and so I reluctantly am forced to grab my coat and go home. We end up beating half the *ahem* "entertainment provided by schools from across the Durham region" outside.

So... I head home. I mention to my mom that we probably would have been out before 10 if we had stayed for the last one, and she gives me a look that says "I've had enough of that attitude, young lady". So... the rest of the ride home is spent in silence. Both a little steamed at the other I think...

Hopefully it'll be all better by tomorrow... 'cause I WANNA GO TO SEARS AND SEE ALL 3! Sorry... it's just that the 3rd on is from a school in Perth, and they've got such a huge cast and so many random things in common with our school/Sears entry that it's funny. That, and it's the one everyone seems to want to see, outside of ours. ^_~

Well, I'm feeling a bit better now...

Further proof that ranting=good.

So... I shall end this post here, without spellchecking it, but with some

@_@ wow. They actually copied down all the lyrics...

You belong to the world of knowledge-seekers
You belong somewhere out in the world, exploring

you find. When you love, that love will join
you in your quest and believe as you do in a
