Call in 3 month's time...
Dec. 30th, 2003 11:53 pmWell, I'm home... and so I'm gonna talk about my weekend.
The hotel we stayed at was a Delta inn, which was minutes away from the resort place that the presentation was at... we had full access to all activities/facilities at both places, so that was kinda cool. There were a couple contests, and we managed to win a few items... 5 in all if I'm not mistaken. Mind you, some, or rather, most of them were fairly cheap, but still...
One thing I must say, when you see a sign saying "family entertainment" you have to hope that it means something like oldies that everyone will enjoy, not kids' songs. I saw both... well actually the kiddie one was a Christmas thing, on December 29th, a few days late, don't'ya think? At least the magic part was entertaining... a few new tricks, but still mostly geared towards little'uns. At the oldies one, we managed to win 2 CDs, one for being the best @ doing the twist + Chicken dance (monks meal version meets spinning while clapping) and one in a singing competition thingy for moms. How precise wording I use, eh?
The beds were about the same size as the one that I have all to myself at home... and it's not exactly fun sharing a bed with your sister, believe me. I think the bed might've even been a bit smaller... it felt that way anyway...
And that's all I've got to say about my weekend.
I got to talk with some great people I haven't heard from in a while today. ^_^ They're both friends of mine from elementary school.
First, there's Vanessa. She moved away back in grade 9. We've emailed each other a bit, but I've hardly kept in contact with her... and I do miss her. She was a great friend. And, I found out today that she's an anime fan. Go random friends of mine who turn out to like anime too!
Then, there's Catie. Such an enthusiastic person who is a Pickering High bound giftie, involved in many a thing. I talk to her more than Vanessa, and run into her every now and again through the dance classes she shares with Joyce, but still don't talk to her as much as I should.
It's hard to stay in contact with friends sometimes, isn't it? I hope that I never drift away entirely from any of you guys... I <3 you all, and I hope you know it.
As for new years... I really wish the house-hopping thing was going on... that would've been great. And the other plan doesn't look too promising either, but I will email/call you guys (you know who you are) if it does somehow get OK'd. So... as of right now, it looks as if I'll be spending New Year's at home with my folks and the Adamsons, my sister and I being the only ones under the age of 30. I'm used to this... it's what usually happens... but it would be nice to have some friends around... closer to my age. ^_^
Well, no matter how we end up spending it, I hope everyone enjoys the last 24 and a bit hours of this year. It's had some pretty good moments, no?
Happy new year, everyone. Let's make it great.
