To reason out the reason
Feb. 15th, 2004 04:07 pm*looks at date* GAH! It's been over a week since I last wrote in here... soo... time for an update!
Let's see... where to start... hmmm...
I guess it is best to start where I last left off. You know that musical, Wicked that I was talking about? Turns out that's on the list of shows for the NY trip next school year! Must... go... The book that it was based on actually was mentioned during the musical theatre design concept meeting on Friday. We were coming up with some ideas and statements about good and evil, and it was brought up that who/what is good or evil is based on your point of view. The guy mentioned the book and how it shows the wicked witch's perspective, and then went over how if the apple trees (that Dorothy and the Scarecrow take apples from in the movie) had an autobiography, they'd probably be showing the two of them as being not too nice, stealing their apples and all.
Yup, I still think that musical theatre is a GREAT class. The only thing is... a) they aren't having it next year :( and b)I'm sorta frustrated over a project I have to do for it... I have little idea of what I'm supposed to be doing for it, and no idea on what's going on with the first set of things my group is responsible for, which are due 2 weeks from tomorrow. Am I getting unnecessarily paranoid again? Quite possibly. Still, I need some sort of knowledge of what's going on or else I'm gonna go insane soon. I don't like not knowing what's going on... it really bothers me. Almost like being spoken for does. Yeah... I get sort of angry when people say, for instance, "the girls said" meaning "Joyce said and we assume that Claire agrees" or anything like that. I like being informed/asked when it comes to things that involve me in one way or another.
Moving on... LOL Laura thinks that Jason and I are an item, without us actually lying to her and saying we were in any way, shape or form. You see, my mom put us in charge of taking all the decorations off of the main bulletin board, and so we were sitting on a table, taking them off and talking. Laura comes up, and tries to climb on to help us... and being a little annoying while doing so. We said we were fine, and she asked us if we wanted some "private time" to which we said yes... 'cause no offence to her, but we really didn't want her around at the moment. She left, and after watching her expressions, now thinks that we're together. That was amusing. But yeah... let the 11-year-old think what she wants. She'll figure it out when one/both of us gets hooked up with someone and randomly brings them in. ^^;
I had more to say, but I forgot what... so I guess I'll just stop here for now.
( enter the random quizzies )
Well, before I leave, I'll go over the title. I don't think that it's actually in the version of the song that's in the movie, but "to reason out the reason" is in the song If I Only Had A Brain. I got a burnt CD of the soundtrack to practice with in musical theatre, and I sorta fell in love with that line. There are some wierd things on it though... such as the fact that from the sounds of it, both Glinda and the Wicked Witch are guys... That, and the barbershop crows... I love them, but yeah... crows singing barbershop harmony... ^^; Everyone, come and see me! I'm the mayor of the munchkins! (What else can I be with my height?) :P Shows are late May-early June. I can't wait... and yet I don't want it to come because I love the "magic in the making" that comes with putting a show together.
*sigh*
Call me crazy, but, as the song goes, "there's no business like show business"!
