Hmm... I figure it's time for an update. So... in the words of the song of the post... "1, 2, 3, go!"

First of all, I guess I should go over March Break. Basically, it was spent in *puts up hands to represent mouse ears and speaks in singsong voice, with music-box-ish version of It's A Small World playing in the background* the happiest place on earth. *back to normal*

Yes, Disney World was fun. LOL I went to this improv comedy club at Pleasure Island, and two things happened. 1) they wanted the name of a sandwich that didn't exist, I came up with "triple decker peanut butter and fudge" 2)they wrote a song about me, and my hatred of my sister's alarm clock waking me up at 6am on the weekend because she forgets to turn it off, and sleeps through it. One thing though, they thought I'm in the same room as her. My room is across the hall. It stillwakes me up sometimes. She's gotten better at turning it off lately, and I keep my door shut now, but still...

Oh, and for the record, virgin raspberry daiquiri = yum! ^_^

...so, that basically sums up my break of March-ness.

As far as this week goes... well, Monday in MUN we FINALLY got hold of the info on what we need to put in our position papers for CHAMUN. There's this booklet that they came out with and put up there as a PDF, so Ms Lang got Jeremy to print it off. She then proceeded to photocopy it for all 10 of us... SINGLE SIDED. So... there were a group of us mourning the trees. Y'know, even though I was taking part, it was sorta funny seeing people stroking the paper and putting it up to their cheeks, etc. as if in mourning. I (at least half-jokingly) suggested holding a séance begging for the forgiveness of the trees (Jen later volunteered to join me when I was telling her about it, saying she has incense and candles enough, and a completely useless Literacy Test prep booklet). We cheered up when Ms Lang said we could recycle them, and then Stuart suggested burning them *shakes head*. Ah... LOL at the beginning of the meeting, we were going over what everyone did on March Break... supposedly the Wright house is the happiest place on earth. *shakes head again, amused* Sometime between then and now I came up with a list of the many "tragedies" of MUN, which I shall now list... and explain in lj-cuts.

1 Ms Lang doesn't have a bus licence )

2 She doesn't have a bus either )

3 Creighton's slipping )

4 No one's signed up for our MUN conference )

5 THE TREES!!!!! )

6 There's a spelling mistake in the booklet )

Moving on to later on Monday... We were going over choreo for the two Munchkin numbers in Musical Theatre that day. We were supposed to just quickly go through them and then go to our production areas. Only one problem: I was basically the only one to remember half the steps. No, really! There's only one part that I'm even slightly shaky at, and I've more or less got it down now. So... we were supposed to get through 2 songs. We got through one and got it looking decent, and went over the other, which we have had less time to go over, and only half the people were there to learn the steps for once. I was one of the only people who remembered all of those steps too. ^^; After school, Jen and I attempted to go to improv, but we were lock-ed out, so we hung around with Heather, and her boyfriend, who goes on my bus but whose name I can not remember, and talked, while Jen played her guitar. Then AJ came around and played Jen's guitar. Then Jen and I headed to my house where we played an overly old version of LIFE. Anyone have a new copy that they'd like to... give me?

Tuesday, we finally got everyone back together in band. It was a good practice. The pieces sounded amazing from where I was, especially the 1st one... Where Eagles Soar. Supposedly we only have 5 practices left till Kiwanis. While this is a little scary, we are gonna be SO ready. It's going to be great.

On Wednesday, I went shopping with my mom, looking for something business-ish, as I need another outfit... or at least another nice top... for CHAMUN because they've got a "business wear" dress code. We found this cute pink outfit, but the jacket didn't fall right in the back. :( I didn't end up getting anything, so I'm going to have to go out and look somewhere else one day. Anyone know somewhere to look/something I'd look good in?

Between yesterday and today, we managed to run all of act one of The Wizard of Oz with the pit band in musical theatre. It looks pretty good. Oh, and further proof that we need more time for munchkin songs: in the words of Tina, "If you forget what you're supposed to be doing, just look at Claire!" According to Emilie, everyone was looking at me trying to get the steps to Follow the Yellow Brick Road. Anyone who knows me probably knows that I'm not a dancer, but my memory's pretty good, so this made me feel oh so special and happy. There are lotsa little funny parts in this 1st act... but I won't go over them because I don't wanna ruin anything for those of you who are going to come and see it *big, pleading eyes* I will go over one little blooper though. They were trying to set the underscore the scene that takes place in the poppy field, and needed to start over numerous times from when the Scarecrow yells out "HELP! HELP!" after scolding the Tinman that there's no use doing it. Nikki, our resident Lion, managed to fall asleep during this. She's already supposed to be asleep in character... but she actually fell asleep. Mrs. Dawson gave Stuart permission to kick her should it happen again. :D

LOL At lunch today, Jen and I were scaring a few people by looking over and reciting from the Men's choir script thing from 2 years ago, when they did a "best of" thing at our church's Christmas talent show thingy that we have after or annual turkey dinner. The thing is, our men's choir doesn't sing. They attempt to, yes, but they can't. (It's supposed to be a parody/bad singing, don't worry.) The best part is the ending. "Unfortunately, while on my way over here, a big guy dressed in red and white and mumbling something like 'yo, yo, yo' landed his sleigh in front of me and took all of the CDs. He said something about running out of coal. So we're all safe for another year." LOL I love that stuff... and there's a lot more where that came from.

...and that, in a nutshell, is how my last 2 weeks have gone.

I sort of half feel like going on for a while longer ranting about different things, but I figure this is long enough. I think I might do another one of those long, disjointed, everything in lj-cut posts again soon. Those are good for just ranting myself away.

In the meantime, time for more of these quizzies )

Random fact: *sings* There is just one moon and one golden sun... *stops* Ahem... I mean...
The Scarecrow was originally supposed to be played by Buddy Ebsen. Ray Bolger, originally cast for the Tinman, switched with him because Ray knew he'd make a perfect Scarecrow (I think we all agree with him). Thus, Ebsen became the Tinman. There was an aluminum (I think) powder used that he had a bad allergic reaction to, and nearly died from and thus Jack Haley ended up with the role. Buddy can still be heard on the soundtrack (in the We're Off To See The Wizard songs) and outlived all the major cast members of the movie, even after coming so close to death during its production.
