How come I must know...?
Jul. 3rd, 2005 09:46 pmSo... my parents celebrated their 24th anniversary last Friday, and spent the weekend up in London while Joyce and I stayed with Grandad and Nana. Aunt Grace and Angela were there too.
It was a pretty good weekend. We went places... did stuff... yeah. Joyce and Angie get along wonderfully. They have simmilar tastes. I'm the odd man out, but I generally don't mind. The only thing that is somewhat annoying/bad is that Nana and Aunt Grace both have a habbit of lecturing. Together, they can have heated arguments while they are on the SAME SIDE OF THE ISSUE!!!!
Yeah... that can get annoying. When they're talking to us girls, we've gotten to the point where our eyes glaze over and we only half pay attention, giving nods and "mhmm"s and the like when the time seems right. I know that may seem a little rude, but honestly, we cannot take nonstop talking like they seem to.
That being said, I know I can ramble too, but I don't think I've ever been that bad. If I ever am, please tell me and I'll stop.
Anyway... random highlight of the weekend: We were at a place called Winterwheat, and there was a sign that said "At this place in 1876, nothing happened". It reminded me of Air Farce, when they were immitating CNN and reporting on a national disaster: "nothing is happening". They actually made it sound like an important news piece too... it was great. ^_^
When mom and dad came to pick us up, they brought some... unexpected news: the van was broken into.
Currently we have no window on the driver's door, and there was blood on one of my armrests, along with glass shards everywhere and... other signs of dirtiness. My seat was the worst, and it wasn't bad, but it still was a little freaky sitting there for 2-ish hours... -_- Nothing of too much value was taken... the things of most importance were a garage door opener and the car's ownership info. The latter was reported, and we didn't notice the former until we were on our way home, but dad's re-keying our garage doors as Ispeak erm... type (I think).
The hotel that mom and dad were staying at have agreed to pay for the damages, thank goodness. Still, that means that we're a car down for a little while, sinse we don't exactly want to be driving around without a window or the car's registration.
So... yeah. That's my weekend in a nutshell.
Happy belated Canada Day!
( quizzies and such... )
Random fact: Cats with blue eyes and all-white fur are deaf.
