Some random things from C-chan
Feb. 5th, 2009 09:51 pm1) Apparently LJ shares a birthday with me. @.@ And is exactly 11 years younger.
1a) I'm tempted to submit my top 5 entries here, but I'm having problems coming up with entries from places that I'd want to see. (Maybe this as one, though I don't know if it quite counts as original content or not... and...... I can think of a few epic posts, but I don't know if they're quite the right thing for there..........
2) Got a bunch of stuff on Finland out from the library today. Why? Because Hetalia is taking over my mind, and, umm... I want to maybe be able to rp him. And so now I'm reading through a decent children's book on Finland (ie it's in the children's section, but has a fair amount of text in it along with pictures, and is about 140 pages long, therefore giving a nice, fairly brief but not too brief overview)... and I KEEP ON GOING "ZOMG SU-FIN = OTP" And... overall making me fangirl muchly. More than reading non-fiction on a COUNTRY has any right to do.
2a) Someone remind me sometime next week to take a copy of the Kalevala out of the school library....
2b) Two quick examples of the Sweden/Finland = OTP:
~"There is a great deal of intermarriage between the Swedish- and Finnish-speaking people.
"'My mouth is Swedish, but my heart is Finnish,' is a saying that illustrates the patiotism Swedish-speaking Finns feel for their country."
(my reacton is Sweden saying "M'mouth's Swed', but m'h'rt's y'rs....")
~Sweden (or any other Scandinavian country) doesn't need a passport to cross Finland's boarders. (which could also be ot5....)
2c) Need to check up on some of the details though, this book is over a decade old.
3) Probably doing one of my final essays for this semester on Harry Potter and The Secret Garden. Children's Lit course pwns.
3a) I hope my Canadian music prof goes over our essay soon, so I can start working on IT, she wants an abstract and annotated biblio soonish. Like, 2 weeks after reading week.
4) I will be on Reading Week a week from now. =D
[Edit]
5) I might be able to get into MENSA without writing the tsst, provided that my parents still have my gifted testing restults. Sweeeeeet.
(I'd be able to save $5 if that is the case. Though probably best to wait until I live closer to a chapter...?)
6) 2 confirmed guests up for AN now.
Vic Mignogna's one of them, Jessie Flower is the other.
I kinda hope I'm around if Vic does anything involving Soldier A. Because that's all too fun a song.
