I had an interesting dream last night.
Most of it was centered around... well, it was supposed to be an interactive movie, which pretty much meant it was a video game, except live-action. Yes.
The premise of it is to bring murderers to justice so that the souls of the victims, who were living as ghosts, could move on.
When playing the game, my perspective was that of someone in-verse. When not playing.... someone not in-verse (kinda me, but different family and different house – still under construction kind of).
The first time I started seeing it part way through. And it was on an arc where you're working for the spirit of a girl (8-12-ish?). But I didn't follow the hints being given, and the girl's ghost form was being torn apart, literally. And she was really scared and obviously I had failed.
Apparently it was available on-demand, and cost 50 cents. My in-dream mom had credit, and told me to go and do it, so after a brief intermission (no, not waking up), I went down to the basement where our digital cable box is (there's some real life coming in), and started from the beginning.
The first spirit was that of “my” own cousin (or close family friend). I think his spirit was somehow soul-bound to either a computer or the house, because while the little girl could travel with me, he couldn't. He seemed rather... real for a ghost. Didn't look too transparent, I'm pretty sure he had aged since crossing over – I had the feeling he was my age and had always been my age. He liked his hair spiky and used blue gel, it looked cute.
He hoped to come back to life when his soul had been brought to justice, so that his mom would accept him as a proper son. Of course, it couldn't work exactly like that (I believed and wished for that too, then I realized he'd have to be reborn or something, which upset me a little because I liked him being my age), but.... yeah.
It was two men who had done it to him, and he knew who. He said I needed to chop down a tree, and find and burn two documents to begin with. I had an axe and matches with me, but only went so far as to chopping down the tree – his body was buried near it. There was a tombstone somehow hidden by it. (Why murderers would bury their victims in marked graves is beyond me. XD)
I didn't get to see the body or find the documents because I woke up then.
The dream could have gone sour... so I'm not sure if that was good or not. But... I kind of want to bring him to peace still. ^^;
At any rate... I kind of want to revisit that “cousin” at some point. If I can figure out his personality, he sounds like he might be an interesting character to develop.
