I can promise you that there was much miming of trying to open the doors on my part for the first bit. And then there were locksmiths hammering away so it became rather self-apparent.
I love that paper so much. I could geek about it for hours but I probably shouldn't. ...and I just found the hard copy the other day, the prof liked how much original research I put into it, which made me really happy. (It's stuff my friends do, which make collecting it easier. Though with a larger project and a larger research base I could do so much more with it!)
I actually have a few bibliographies related to fandom in my possession. The fact that it is a valid area of study is one of the things seriously making me consider going back for a fourth degree. I mean, really. Spending years working on primary research in fandom? That is one of the best things I can imagine.
