I prefer Picard, though Kirk gets points for being a man of action. It's like comparing Lt. Colonel Henry Blake and Colonel Sherman Potter (M*A*S*H). It's all up to what you like!
My favourite show was Voyager. No question. Though that may be because I grew up with it, I think I still say so even as I watch TNG episodes almost every day over here :D
