It's the day before Chrismtas Eve. I really should be cleaning my room right now, and probably will stop spuratically during writing this to do so. In the meantime though, I've had a long post that I've been meaning to put up for a while (ever since Joyce deleted my last attempt at doing so... grrrrrr) and so... time for some blogging. ^_^
First of all, Lord of the Rings time!
WOWOWOWOW! This movies is honestly sooooooo good. I went to see it on opening night @ AMC @ 5:15. And ya, it was great.
As I've been saying to some people over the past few days, it's a fangirl's dream come true, seeing all 3 of her favourite characters on a bed at one time. GO PIPPIN, MERRY AND FRODO! Nothing against Sam, I just prefer the other 3 hobbitses. Then, there's me talking to Sarah AKA Pippin.
Me: OMG! You're my favouite character/hobbit!
Sarah: I'm my favourite too!
LOL
Anyways... Pippin and Merry are sooo cute in this movie... I was in the mood afterwards to write a little fluffy piece between the two of them, which I did... it's somewhere between being half-finished and actually done (meaning I don't know if I'm gonna add more to it or not) and is currently written in my agenda. If anyone wants to read it, tell me and I'll give it to you, but it's no masterpiece or anything, just a short piece on the thoughts going through Pippin's mind during one part of the move. Sometime after he sings that oh-so kawaii song... Billy Boyd has an amazing voice! I just adored his song!
And Andy Sirkis may be able to get an Oscar now! After all, he was actually on screen this time...
He deserves it too... He does so much for Gollum. Not just the voice, but Gollum's movements are, for the most part, his own. They copied most of his facial expressions as well: on the 3rd DVD for the Two Towers they show the whole schizophrenic scene (where Gollum and Smeagol are talking) split screen between the CG expressions and Andy's. THEY'RE BASICALLY IDENTICAL.
Random fact of the day that I've probably already told most of you: Andy based the "Gollum" cough thing on his cat coughing up a hairball. ^_^
I was laughing throughout the movie... even in some of the more serious moments *eep!* One thing that was almost scary was the fact that I had just finished whispering to my sister that the elephant should count as more than one when Gimli called out saying "That still only counts for one you know!". That was fun!
The one thing though, was that the movie seemed to never end! I mean, *fade to black* is it over? No! there's another scene *fade to black again* one doesn't expect it to be over this time, and sure enough, it isn't. *fade to white* AHA! It's done! Nope... another scene... then finally *words "THE END" come up*
You know, sooner or later, I'm going to have to read the books. No, I haven't read them yet. I have read The Hobbit and I have to say it wasn't one of my faves... but that was before I was into LOTR, and it was a family reading thing, not of my own choice. That could make a difference.
Oh and Jen, I am going to get a group together, and we are going to bind you, gag you, dress you up as a hobbit, and send you off to middle earth or you could just surrender and watch the movies. :P You'll like them, I swear!
On a completely different note, there were a couple great moments on the last day of school (yes, I did go to school on Friday...). First of all, I managed to make a set of holiday boxes of... DOOM! They're all decorative and pretty and... probably currently squished since they're still in my backpack -_-
Then, there was the assembly. Mr. Thorne's Mr.. Bean scene was great as always, and then there was the student parliament and the teachers spoofing each other. Planned or not, AJ's impression of... I forget who the teacher was, was basically identical to the teacher's impression of him. That was great within itself... especially saying I'm pretty sure it was the same teacher both ways... (does anyone know for sure?) I preferred the Student Parliament spoofing of the teachers personally... it was done based on T'was the Night Before Christmas and it was soooo funny! There were two parts in particular that I had to laugh at. The first was when the teachers were fighting on who would be on the committee to help Santa. Mr.. Thorne (played by Stuart Wright) and Mr.. Leduc (played by a guy who's name I don't remember) were having a "sword fight" with a baton and wooden spoon respectively. Then, Erik went offstage to announce an emergency chess club meeting (it was supposed to be over the PA) and so he and another guy immediately ran over to a desk that was upstage right and started playing. At the end, the other guy announced "CHECKMATE!!!" It was great. And if you're wondering why that was so funny, we actually have emergency chess club meetings called over the PA system every now and again. ^^;
I managed to get my shopping done... so I've just got to wrap my stuff. I've only really got gifts for my immediate family, partially because as it goes, no one really gives me any gifts either... it goes both ways. The only thing I got from any of my friends was a thing of mini-origami paper from my locker buddy. THANKEES AINSLEY!!! Not that I'm complaining... sorry if anyone takes this the wrong way... I honestly don't care. After all, I don't really have (m)any overly close friends... and it's not like it's the end of the world or anything. Meh... I probably shouldn't have said anything about it in the first place...
But ya... Christmas Eve is tomorrow! That's my fave day of the year! Lots of anticipation, singing, and seeing a bunch of camp-friend people. ^_^
And remember Jason, subtly poke Jen if she goes too fast. :P
They've made the service this year almost like a more mature version of the Christmas pageants we used to put on 5 or so years ago. By this I mean, same people, more formal and less childish set up. The only difference is, some of us are singing, and the choir is partially adult, not all kids like it would have been if we had had a choir back then. We were actually talking about those little pageant things on Sunday. During one in particular, I was the star.
No, really, I wore a white dress and was covered with tinsel. ^^;
My grandfather played Santa at them afterwards... we got presents every year, one of which is currently on my bookshelf right now. It's a Mickey mystery book and tape set.
Hmmm... I'm running out of things to say now, so... Merry Christmas!
Bast - Like Artemis, Bast was a wild goddess. To
those who were in her favor, she gave great
blessings, but her wrath was legendary and she
was sometimes listed as one of Ra's avenging
deities who punish the sinful and the enemies
of Egypt. This is of course in keeping with her
totem animal, the cat. Cats were sacred to
Bast, and to harm one was deemed a great
transgression. Bast's importance in the
Egyptian pantheon might be due to the great
value placed on the domesticated cat by the
Egyptians. Cats curtailed the spread of disease
by killing vermin, and though the idea of
microbes was unknown to the ancient Egyptians,
they must have noticed the connection between
rats and disease.

at creating them as well.

Purple -> You're shy and sweet. You'd be a perfect
anime character for a fantasy manga! You have
enough friends, but you don't talk enough to
fit in perfectly. Lighten up and say
something! Don't worry, everybody will still
love you. Plus, you're brave deep down.

Go Cabbits!

You're Ryo-oh-ki! Ryo-Ohki is far more than your
customary cute anime mascot; she can take on
six different forms, the most common of which
is as a half-cat, half-rabbit creature (a
'cabbit') as shown here. The first time we see
her is in the form of Ryoko's huge, crystalline
spaceship. After the spaceship crashed, an egg
was found in the wreckage, from which her
cabbit form hatched. She can transform back
into the spaceship at will. The ship is
populated with control crystals, another form
she can take (often multiple crystals at once).
In the second OVA series, Ryo-Ohki merges with
a creature made of a polymorphic material (the
Mass) and can take on a half-human form,
firstly as an adult female, then later as a
child. Her half-human form is unstable,
however, and a sudden shock or fall will revert
her to a cabbit again. In the second TV series,
she can transform into a pink mechanoid piloted
by Sasami. Ryo-Ohki also has the capability for
flight and dematerialization, and she
absolutely adores carrots. (if you're a
human.... ha-ha!)
