Jun. 2nd, 2009 01:34 pmAt school right now, about to pick up my grad tickets. Might write AN report while I'm here, but there's also a very strong chance that I won't. It feels odd being in the comp lab when I'm technically no longer a student here... though I'm glad the computers still think I am. ^^ (I'd probably stay if I had earphones on me, buuut meh. XD)
Ortho was a little longer than usual today, but I was able to go right in, so it actually didn't take up as much time as normal. My teeth are sore though, but that's to be expected.
Interview went well. The woman was lovely to talk to, and she seemed to like me. I think I'd enjoy working under her. Plus, one of the men I worked for last year, it turns out, works in the same building! So I got to say hi to him, and he says that if she asks him (which she said she would), he'd give me a wonderful reference. =D
I feel bad though, a lot of them might be losing their jobs due to a combination of the current economy and the HST coming into effect. Though if I get the job, it's the HST that will be GIVING me something to do. So... yeah. Ironic.
So crossing my fingers and toes, and hopefully I'll find out tomorrow that I have a job. =D
The location and timing and everything is pretty ideal, so I'm really hoping it works out. Plus, a lot of it is filing, so my librarian skills come in handy, a bit. *has been volunteering in my mom's library since forever* (And repetitive jobs like that don't bother me at all, otherwise I wouldn't have reapplied for the program.)
It turns out I won the Orpheus award at UTSC. Which means I'm one of the best arts students in the school, I'm guessing. Grades-wise, at least. (To quote from the website...
* Orpheus Prize in Humanities
Awarded to an outstanding member of the graduating class who has completed either the specialist program in Arts and Culture, the major program in Art History, the major program in Drama, or the major program in Music and Culture.
So... yeah. G-go smartitude?)
Trying to make my way through the HP series right now. On POA at the moment, hopefully will get a lot of that read before I leave today. And then on to GOF. Which will take a little bit of time, ne? (After book three, they start getting looooong. XD)
With any luck, I'd like to have the series done before the picnic, but we'll see how that goes. ^_~
