3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.

1. Where did your lj name come from? Is there a doom box out there waiting for me!? :O
My username actually came out of a trip to the JCCC (Japanese Candian Cultural Centre) when I was in grade 11. We were given the option to learn to make origame "fancy boxes" or... I think frogs. I went for the box... and nicknamed mine the box of doom after. I still have that box. It's red on the outside, and I've added a black interior (read, another box covering over the whiteness of the other side of the origami paper) since. The name actually stuck with the style of box rather than the particular one.
It wasn't too long after this that livejournal became non-invitation or paying only again. I was trying to come up with a good name when my cousin, who had been on lj for a while and had been on that JCCC trip with me, suggested box_of_doom. It was free, and I used it.
Since then, it's become one of my normal screennames. I enjoy it because it's random, not often used (it was taken on gmail before I could snag it, but nowhere else have I ran into problems with getting it), and it's not related specifically to any fandom, so it may last the test of time better than "elricestluver2007" or something of the sort might. (That being said, I don't get out of fandoms easily, though my focus may switch from one to another, but that's another story for another day.)
2. I notice you use Yugi a lot in icons. Are you into that fandom too?
Yes. I am a YGO fan, most definitely. Not so much as a few years ago, mind you. I still enjoy it, but I don't seek it out as much... still if something good comes along (ie: the abridged series) I will fangirl over it.
My icons are mainly of Yuugi because I can relate to him. I was muchly into that fandom at the time that I made my lj, and it just seemed fitting to me to use him. We're both short (I'm 5'2), a little shy but can be leaders when we need to... and... yeah. The one icon I have that doesn't have him in it is of Ryou, which is my little tribute to my favourite pairing of the series: heartshipping (Yuugi/Ryou).
3. What got you into lj?
My cousin. She started using it and I thought it looked cool and wanted one of my own. However, as I already kind of said, this was during the time when you had to either be invited by a member or pay your way in. I asked her if she would invite me, and she was considering it (she told me after that she probably would have given me her invite soon), but it ended up being open again for anyone to create an lj... so I just did it that way instead.
Although some recent things like ads and some of the changes that have been made irk me a little, I still stick with lj because my friends are here and I don't like how myspace looks at all. And not GJ because I don't know anyone on GJ. And I don't have a reason yet for not being on facebook, but I'm not at the moment. :P
LJ FOR TEH WINS!!
4. What are some of your rl hobbies?
I am a musical theatre geek. No really. I have numerous scores memorised... I could sing my way through "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat" (though not 100% accurately) when I was still in kindergarten. Improv is a love, and singing is a passion. I've been in a few plays and musicals through school and a local drama youth group, but nothing big recently.
I also spend an unhealthy amount of time online... I've been doing fandom-linked journal-based RPing for two years now, and love talking to my friends on messengers and SKYPE.
I also love cooking and baking... I've won awards for the latter before. I daydream a lot, and come up with things that would be great to do, but never seem to get around to doing them. I'm too much of a procrastinator, I am.
As you can probably guess, since I like RP-ing and daydreaming, I also like to write. However, unless I write strictly in drabbles, I have a severe tendency to... not finish what I start. That, mixed with the first thing I ever posted online (which, in hindsight, was pretty... bad) got flamed in the very first review it recieved... probably explains why I post so little of my writings online.
Overall, my tastes are somewhat ecclectic. So... ummm.... yeah.
5. What is your favorite series/character?
This is hard for me. I don't often have favourite... anything. With these two questions, I find this applies a lot to the first, and less so to the second. So... I'll list some of my current fandoms, and the characters from within each one.
Fullmetal Alchemist -- The Elrics are my favourite here... Al moreso than Ed, I think. He's so sweet, and needs lots of love. Plus, he's shorter than Ed in the movie. (Nevermind the fact that Al is physically... what? 5 years younger than him there? and only slightly shorter..... :P) I also love a certian bootleg Elric... :P
Ouran High School Host Club -- Kaoru. When I first found out about this series, I thought that Honey would be my favourite. However, when I watched, I found that Kaoru stole that spot (though Honey is second or third, along with Hikaru). I love the fact that he can be mischievious (the Hitachiins are quite like the Weasley twins, who are favourites of mine in the HP canon), but can still be quite calm when he needs to be. I also love his random theories, and his philosophising. I can totally relate to that.
Digimon -- Koushirou (Izzy) Izumi. He's short, smart, has self-esteem issues and a secret, and is a computer geek. He makes me want to hug him sooo much when he's off in his own world... and he's honestly the reason I wanted an i-book in the first place. (I had always been a mac-addict, but that just made me want a laptop. :P) I roleplay him a lot, and it's fun to deal with his geekiness and self-esteem issues. It really is.
Yu-Gi-Oh -- Ryou Bakura. While I relate to Yuugi, Ryou is the one who I love the most here. He's shy and cute and polite and oh so veryuke adorable and I love it. (And yes, I actually do like the British accent that they gave him in the dub, though it amuses me that his second (third if you count the first series) seiyuu in the Japanese also played Satoshi in Pokémon.
When it comes to series, I'm generally drawn into them either for story, art, or... I don't know what it is always. It has to look appealing to me. There are certain series that I don't like either for their art style or for their content... I know that much.
Characters... I tend to go for short, smart, sweet, shy ones. (Even though a lot of the people I mentionned are not the shortest in the cast, they're either average or shorter than a lot of others. :P) I don't like sickeningly cute necessarily, but I do like cute nonetheless. And... yes.
Fangirling is fun, ne?

1. Because I'm bored and need new books to read, name three good books you've read recently.
Well... these aren't really recently... because I haven't sat down to read a book all the way through in a while. >.> buuut... the Chisty Miller series (a Christian teenage love series), Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (if you haven't already), and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Living Your Dreams (it's REALLY inspiring).
2. What's your favorite color?
I don't have a favourite colour. I have favourite colour combinations. Right now, it's probably red, black, and gold, but I also like light blue and silver together.
3. Who's cooler, Koushirou Izumi or Izumi Orimoto?
Kou. Duuuuh. :P I only... PLAY him, and love him to death and have cosplayed him and plan to again and first wanted a laptop because of him and find him very cute/sweet/if he were real and I knew him I'd probably be crushing over him and *fangirls*
4. What's your favorite Digimon pairing?
Joushirou... but you know I'm up for Kou/most people. (well, technically, most people/Kou).
5. Which is better, SH or Digilife?
That's tough. I'm going to go with
digilife, but only because I'm a co-founder. :P

And if you wouldn't mind, interview me!

Hmmmnn....
1) Has anything from an anime series ever changed the way you viewed something in life?
2) Besides wanking, what is the most annoying thing about fandoms to you?
3) What one achievement in your life to date are you most proud of?
4) If you were in charge of inventing a new holiday, what would it be called, when would it be, and what would it be celebrating?
5) Is there anything you would never consider writing?
no subject
2. That the very energy that makes fandom so much fun can also be so destructive - sometimes people get *SO* attached to a pairing/chara/etc that they become difficult to interact with. OMG YOU DO NOT MY LIKE MY PAIRING I HAET YOU!!!1 type of stuff.
3. I suppose surviving it thus far? I am not sure if I have such a thing as a long term goal in life, so it's hard to judge my achievements :)
4. XD; I've already invented and celebrated a variety of fake holidays with my fellow geek friends. One is Pi Day, March 14 - at 1:59:26 pm exactly, one serves a pie from my Pi plate, which is a dish with the digits of pi running around the perimeter. Also, Elricmas (12/17), which is the Church of Elric's fake holiday celebrating uh, getting drunk on irc and writing fanfic? It's happened two years running now, craziness...
5. I am attempting never to say never anymore, because in general, every time I swear never to write something, someone then challenges me to do it because I said I won't, and I wind up writing it just to prove I'm not incapable XD; (This is, incidentally, why such horror as Ed/Hei necro fic exists O.o)

interview me?
lolz
no subject
2) What is one thing that you regret doing?
3) Do you miss living in Whitby?
4) If you could make me do one thing, any one thing, what would it be?
5) How many digits of pi do you know off the top of your head? (recite them, please. :P)
no subject
2. There's much I regret, and a lot is personal. Uh, I think I'm starting to regret going to school so far away.
3. As per my above comment, I don't miss living in Whitby, but I miss living close to my family and all of you guys. It's hard living up here when really the only friend I've got is Jared.
4. Take a sip of a fizzy drink :P I find Pepsi is the least fizzy pop out there.
5. 3.1415926 and that's it. They fit more digits than that on my calculator display!
