Hmmm... I feel like ranting on a lot of different things right now, so time to go back to the old put-everything-in-a-lj-cut method. ^^; This was done over Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, so if anything seems to be dated wrong (saying "yesterday" for something you know was on Monday or something) that's why.

As to why I didn't just put this up in parts... I always had to stop in the middle of something, and always only really had time to do a little, as, believe it or not, I've spent a considerably smaller length of time online this week than usual.

What did I do this weekend? Well, On Saturday, I went to my grandma's memorial service. You would've thought it would be sad, and indeed, near the beginning a number of people were crying. By the end though, I think everyone had laughed... there were some funny moments in people speeches about Grandma. For instance, there's the "Pogo Stick Incident". Basically, Grandma was trying out my uncle Paul's new pogo stick in the basement. She managed to cut her head open when she fell off. My grandfather is a retired policeman, and so when this happened, it just so happened that he was just about to leave for work. So... he had to escort my grandmother to the hospital, in full uniform. You can imagine the havoc/attention that this would have brought in the emergency room. My aunt was joking beforehand about doing the wave during the service, we didn't, of course. Afterwards, I talked with my two cousins (on opposite sides of the family) Jen and Grace. Then I went to my Aunt Kim's for Chinese food, and watched The Wizard of Oz (hey! I'm studying!!! :P).

On Sunday, I went to church, and then went to my sister's dance competition. This was my first time seeing the group number that she's in, entitled Sold. It was really good! ^_^ They got a gold for it, which is the second highest level available. The levels for medals are (from highest to lowest): platinum, gold, high silver, silver, high bronze, bronze. There were some other really good performances I saw too, though I was partial to the musical theatre/production ones, naturally. ^_~ There was one about being trapped in the "Doll's House" that was really cute... as well as one to Stayin Alive where the people were all dressed as Seniors, Totally Different Identical Twins which was done by... a pair of twins... and a tap number that was absolutely amazing by it's costumes alone... they were black, with masks on both the face and the back of the head, and zig zags around the neck and one leg of corresponding colours to the colour of the mask. It would look so amazing under black light.

Anyways... that's basically my weekend, in which I was hardly home. Go busy-ness!

We were supposed to have MUN Monday, but Ms Lang, who is both my TAP teacher and the leader of this club/group/whatever was away... more on why later. There were two problems with that, both of which have now been (more or less) resolved:

1) Position papers.

We were supposed to have them done (or close to done) for the meeting yesterday, as CHAMUN is next week. Luckily, this had already had been worked out, with another teacher taking them for her. Somehow I managed to get my position paper on Zambia done during the weekend... by taking basically all my time at home and spending it on the computer. I hope that turned out well... but meh. I'm not exactly being marked on it, so it's not like I'll fail if there are a few mistakes or if it wasn't exactly how it was meant to be. Also... Ms Lang's now looking over them so we can make any needed changes/corrections... so all our position papers can be looking pretty and perfect for Tuesday.

2) Info on CHAMUN (ie who's driving, dress code, times for arrival, etc)

Some of this we can get next week, no problem, but the driving thing we probably should have just about down by now, and I'm not sure if we do. My mom says that she can help... but only if we're ready at basically 7:00 AM or so... maybe 7:10-ish... but that didn't sound like the way it was going to go. Nikki was going to check with her folks too, but I don't know how that turned out. Luckily, we don't need rides all the way, just to the GO station, which is... 10 minutes away, maybe? We're having a meeting tomorrow now, but it's still cutting it a little close. I mean, we have tomorrow and Monday and that's IT. The thing starts on Tuesday.

(update we got the driving thing sorted out today. A few people are a little scared though, because Marcello's gonna be driving, and apparently some people don't trust him behind the wheel...)

I now have all the outfits I need though. It turns out my grandmother had this outfit that is business-ish, doesn't look overly "old" (meaning I can wear it without looking too much like I borrowed it from someone over 50 years older than me), and actually fits me. Go looking for business-proper attire at home. ^^;

Luckily, it seems as if we now have enough people coming to SIMUN that we can run it. I mean, we've got around 50 or 60 people coming... that's up from the 0 we had last Monday... ^^;

CHAMUN should definitely be fun... from what I've heard at least. I've heard some interesting stories to say the least, from various sources. Plus, it means a 6-day weekend, one day of which is my 16th birthday! Go having a b-day on Easter... how much more of a "sweet" sixteen can I ask for? (chocolate... mmm...)

It's weird. I know a number of people that have lost a relative over the month of March. I lost my grandma, as did another girl in my Musical Theatre class. Mr. Thorne lost his mom. Sarah (from musical theatre) says that she lost her uncle around this time last year. Also, I've heard in passing that the reason why Ms Lang was away might've been because she lost someone, a guy that Jen knows apparently lost a member of his family... and another teacher at my school was crying because her dad's dying.

Yeah... a lot of death going on. Not good. I was talking about it with Sarah one day in musical theatre, and randomly asked Jeremy (who was sitting right there) if he had lost anyone. He hasn't. A bit of a morbid topic to be talking about, no? Well, it's not like the play doesn't mention it. I mean, to quote Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead,

"The house began to pitch,
The kitchen took a slitch
It landed on the wicked witch in the middle of a ditch
Which was not a healthy situation for a wicked witch
Who began to pitch
And was reduced to just a stitch
Of what was once the Wicked Witch"

Yeah... rigor mortis mentioned in a family musical. *shakes head*

On Monday, I was working on Education Package stuff. Jeremy came up with a list of words that can be found in the title The Wizard of Oz. He found over a hundred, but missed some very basic ones. I found a few, and added four onto his list (it was in columns of 4, so I didn't want to mess that up by adding a number that would mess it up). The words I added were: HE, WE, TEA, and WEIRD. Interestingly enough, Jeremy had EAT and ATE on the list, but not TEA. *tisk tisks*

After that, I spent the rest of the week working on The Merry Old Land of Oz. In the scene (the song and surrounding dialogue involving us chorus/Munchkin people), there are 5 Ozian guards, 8 beauticians (2 for each of the four "Friends"), and 2 doormen. That makes 15. There are 16 of us, so the choreographers made the last one of us a random Ozian. Guess who that is. Yep, me. So... Tuesday was vocals... that was easy enough... then we went over the choreo of Follow the Yellow Brick Road because there wasn't enough time for us to start on the stuff for this song, and half of the Munchkins didn't know it. In fact, I was the only one to remember everything, reminding the choreographers of the things they had forgotten. ^^;;;;

On Wednesday, we actually started choreo on The Merry Old Land of Oz, but then on Thursday we were told that everything we did on Wednesday would be being changed... ^^;

So many people were away over the last 2 days, but we managed to get part of the song done (we were supposed to have it all done by now, but that's basically impossible). Because of me being a random Ozian, and the fact that we were working on the Beautician part, this meant that I had to fill in for a random person, and ended up as Chris, who is working with the Scarecrow (Chris is in Wales right now with the school's Rugby team). Everyone in the Scarecrow section was away, so today I got to teach Christine, who is Chris' partner, what she missed. LOL it took Stuart until someone actually told him to realize he doesn't have to be in tableau when we're stuffing him with "a couple of brand new straws". Tee hee hee... go knowing the choreo better than people involved... Besides that, I didn't do anything in choreo today, because we were starting on the choreo for the long, instrumental part... and it was the end of the period by the time she was at the part that I'm needed at... which really isn't that far into the song! umm... we're really going to need a lot longer to choreo this... and we have no more time according to schedule. Meh... they can always use time put forth for King of the Forest 'cause... if I'm not mistaken, Nikki's not gonna be there then. -_-

LOL. Three of the 4 boys have to do a step called pas de chat, and so they learned how to do it today. It turns out the 4th boy, Andrew, has actually had some experience in... ballroom dancing I think? o_0 He was going after the others, saying that their feet should meet in a T-shape, around 90*. It was just sort of funny to watch. The dancing can be amusing to watch at times... especially saying we've come up with a list of dance styles that would be entertaining to put in, and have demonstrated them. Said list includes: cancan, macarena, and our all-time favourite, riverdancing!!!! Yeah... choreo time is never really boring... just not always overly productive. ^^;;;

And now, to talk about my week outside of any of that. Basically, not a whole lot has happened. In English, I watched West Side Story, and got my ISU logs back. I somehow managed to ace them! ^_^ I finally got together with my partner and decided what we'd be doing for our mole project in chem, and in physics I had a test and got to see how teachers can take over their students' computer screens. It's freakishly fun. Jen came over Monday after our uber-short improv meeting, and played LIFE (we still need to get a tournament together... anyone interested?). While waiting for our ride, we had a random campfire-ish thing. Today we sang God of our Fathers at lunch. That was fun too.

As far as clubs go, we've got 3 more band practices left before Kiwanis. We sound pretty good, so I'm not worried. What I am a little worried about is improv club. We are planning to do little improv games in between performances on Music Night, which is in early May, but the group is very disorganized, and, really, I doubt the maturity of half the group. I'm not sure if they'll be able to do a good job with it. Only 1 way to find out though, I guess.

Outside of school, not a lot's going on. Really. I've been trying to practice my piano more often, because I really haven't been getting much practice time in lately, and that's really not good.

I'm running out of things to talk about for the moment... so time to move on to some different stuff before I end this.

You are a traditional Bb clarinet. You follow the
normal and everyday rules of society and do
your best to fit in, although you still have an
unmistakable aura of originality. Go you!

What kind of clarinet are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
the quiz was random-ish, but with a title like that, how could I not take it? Go me-inets!

You are an Elementalist. Your magic stems from the
forces of nature. You might be a forest
nuturing Druid, a storm-creating Weather-Wizard
or any of the many Elementals, but one thing is
sure-- your bond with nature is strong. You can
rely heavily on nature to support yourself
aesthetically or physically for it lends you
both comfort and strength. Your instincts
rarely fail you. You are vibrantly passionate
but are sometimes carried away by your own
emotions.

Which Magical Order Are You In?
brought to you by Quizilla
Cool! Ability to control elements. ^_^

You're the very element of STORMS! You are a loner,
who tends to watch things from a-far. High up
in your cloudy solitude, you try to shed you
problems on the unsuspecting world below. Only
to strike when proveked, you pull out all the
stops. If anyone gets you mad, you toss you
weight around and light up the sky. Though some
may see you as strange, don't listen. You will
fit in somewhere though, hey everyone has their
storms! Trust me. But word to the wise, too
many storms may cause a wave of anger, which
will leave you worse off than you started.
Oh, and if you dont mind, PLEASE RATE THIS
QUIZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What Element are YOU??? {No pics., but pretty dang interesting!}

Go loners...

anime chick
You are a human shadow. If a loved one needs you,
you are always right at his or her heels! Your
deep social connection with human beings
produces your qualities of genuine caring and
charisma. However, at times you are naive to
the true nature of your loved ones. Remember
that humans' gift of free will does not always
lead them in wise directions. But your essence
of love and friendship represent the other
precious gifts of humanity. Overall you are a
strikingly valuable and innocent being who has
a lot to give.(please rate my quiz cuz it took
me for freaking ever to create)

What Kind of Shadow Are You? (with gorgeous pics)
brought to you by Quizilla

you are california roll
You are California Roll. You are avacado, crab

and rice. Everybody loves you, even though you
are a bit of a poser. Oh well, you taste
good...nothing else matters, right?

What kind of sushi are you?
