We did it! We're going on to the provincials!!!!!!

Okay, not me persay... but the cast and crew of This Is For You, Anna, and thus Sinclair, is.

So... I think I was there at the Sears Drama Festival (Eastern Regional competition) the most out of all Sinclair non-cast/crew members this week... and even beating out some of them... as I was there for all but one day, and the last play on Thursday. Lots of great plays all week long.

Yeah... This Is For You, Anna was officially awesome.

When we arrived, the teachers were suggesting we write notes to the "Anna" people, showing our support and being all motivating and such. I wrote one. )

pre-Anna stuff )

They performed second, and did an outstanding job. The adjudicator even said that, before he went in on his usual criticizing. (He had some comments on how every play could improve.) Hmmm... I wouldn't be surprised if some people were amazed that ours was student directed. It looked so amazing, better than some of the teacher-directed ones. (GO NIKKI!!!)

After the show, I sent them another note. )

We got an award of merit for Paul's lighting and sound, and two awards of achievement:one for Nikki's directing and the other for the cast. We were applauding and cheering loudly for Paul, and gave standing ovations for the two others.

The 3 plays that went on were (in this Order):
Antigone  )
Savage Love )
and... )
This Is For You, Anna!!!!

So... yeah... We won!We WON!!WE WON!!!We WON!!We won!

We were all going ecstatic, and gave a standing ovation... as did Perth ^^; The cast and crew had a ginormous group hug as Nikki and Erik got the award. Then, after the awards ceremony was officially over, all us Sinclair people got together and had a little 5-10 minute celebration of mass congratulations and hugs. It was great! So much happiness being shared by all Sinclair-onians... But really, it was totally awesome, and no one was surprised in the least that we made it.

Oh... in my grandfather's ward, there is guy named Jonathon, or Jon for short, that is 18, and goes to Peterborough CVI. It turns out that the school is an arts high school, and has the giftie program, which he is a part of (he's not in the arts program, though he does do some sculpting if I'm not mistaken). His school did This Is A Play in Sears. Mom and I sent him a copy of the playbill, a ticket from when they performed (we had extras from the subscriptions we bought on Tuesday...) and I attached another note... )

So, yeah, my 2 weeks of a drama geek's dream come true are now half over. Next week I get to go see 2 musicals: Pelagie with school, and Fiddler on the Roof for my nana and grandad's 50th wedding anniversary.

Plus, tomorrow's Kiwanis. We (the Sr band) are going to be great. I know it. Between Kiwanis and Sears, Musical Theatre's going to be so full of overly happy energy on Monday... perfect for a run, and announcement-recording.

Well, that's all from me for now. So... time for some more quizzies and other random shtuff )

Random fact: my name in Japanese looks like this.
