Countdown: 2 days till I'm probably getting my lappy! Yay!
4 days till school starts... *meep!*

Random fact: The fingernails on your dominant hand grow faster than those on your other one.

PS: For those of you who were there for the Munchkin LARP idea thing... read this. (Those of you who didn't should read it too... it's hillarious.) Nice alternative to itching powder, eh? ^_~

So, my last few days have been spent at home doing... not a lot.

Not a lot of serious stuff at least.

I've been having fun though... I started reading LOTR for one... I'm 2 chapters in so far, and it's not exactly light reading, but it's fun. ^^ I've already been finding random things to laugh at like "ProudFEET" and Frodo and Merry discussing whether or not the former being called a Brandybuck was an insult or not. I'd say more about what I think of it so far/things I noticed, but I don't want to spoil anything, no matter how minor, for those of you who haven't even gotten as far as I have before. :P

Yesterday, I found out that the Whitby Public Library has a decent manga collection housed in the downtown branch. Unfortunately for me, I a)found out online, which means I couldn't search through the section as you can only search by title, author, call number and subject (and manga/graphic novel is not considered a subject...), and b)wouldn't have had much luck getting the titles I wanted even if I had gone, because there seems to be a waiting list for many of the titles. But... I put my name down for a few. It'll give me something non-school related to do on my Thursdays, if nothing else... :P.

Last night we had Chinese food for dinner. For some reason, I tend to get multiple fortunes in my cookies. This had lead to me joking about having MPD, or, for those of you in the YGO fandom... a yami. (Why? Because I can.) This time, I just got one... but Joyce got 3. *insert MPD related joke here*

Today? Well, today has been mostly spent around musicals, anime, and AMVs (anime music videos). You can blame Kyle for that last thing... I'd be saving some of them on my hard drive right now... but I don't see the point at the moment (lappy coming soon = happy happy Claire). For the record, hearing "Who Let The Dogs Out" while seeing Joey sweatdropping and Inu Yasha being told to sit is fun. ^___^ So is... well... a lot of other random things on here... like dancing pink bunnies... *nods*

*giggles* Kyle, I'm also blaming you for the fact that I now want to see Avenue Q. Why? Because my research tells me that's where that "If You Were Gay" song is from.

For those of you who have never heard of Avenue Q before, it's a musical that opened on Broadway... sometime during 2003. (It was up against Wicked for Best Musical in the Tonies in Feb. 2004.) If you want to know what it's like... you all know Sesame Street, right? Well, picture Sesame Street for adults. That's Avenue Q. *nod* (For a better description, go here. Yes... it's a comedy. Why do you ask?)

So... at some point, I really should get a library card for the Oshawa Public Library. Apparently they've got a lot of good stuff... and my mom mentioned something about them being one of the best libraries this side of Toronto or something? I forget exactly what she said... but it's one of the best or one of the only ones to do... something that's positive... ^^;;; (and they have fruits basket on DVD... :P)

I also need to start driving again. I haven't done... any since before Jr. High... and I really should be working towards my G2. I really need to work on my anti-procrastination techniques... ^^;

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before or not, but Joyce has joined a gym. Mom's joining it as soon as she gets in this card thingy that should be sent out to her today that allows her to get a massive discount. I had a free week-long membership that just expired, and will not be joining until April at least. Do I want to? Actually, yes. They've got an awesome fitness class that I like that basically is yoga, pillates and tai chi combined. I like it. I really like it. However, in the meantime, I shall be making full use of my school's gym, and our home equipment (hopefully... ^^;). I'm probably going to be joining a class or two at the UTSC gym, but I haven't quite decided which yet.

As for the more serious side of life... I'm still scared about starting school (I'm missing orientation right now, but I still don't really care about that). I think it'll be fine, but it's the pre-anticipation jitters. I just hope that I don't get totally lost on my first day. I managed to do that in high school... ^^; (Then I found out why the stairs were named after colours...)

Like everyone else, I think that the whole Hurricane Katrina aftermath stuff is horrible... but at the same time, I'm not sure how so many people could have been stupid enough to not listen when they were being told throughout the entire week before the incident that they should evacuate. The sad thing is, the same thing would have happened anywhere.

This sparked a conversation between my mom and I last night about natural disasters, and how so many places that are overly populated/are home to famous people are in places that are geographic disasters waiting to happen. Basically all of Japan fits on this category, as does Hollywood/California (think about the ending of that "end of the world" cartoon thingy that everyone used to watch all the time...), and yes... the fact that New Orleans is shaped like a bowl does make it fit into the category... faulty dams or not.

Anyway... enough of that for now.

If you excuse me, I think I shall watch Ryuichi get on Shuichi's case yet again...

If you don't know what is behind here, who are you and how did you stumble across this lj? )

Countdown: erm... *points at the post she made earlier today* (except the lappy thing... I’m getting it TODAY!!!!!!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Lappylappylappylappylappylappylappylappylappylappylappy yay.)

Random Fact: If you were queer... I’d still be heeeere... There are 525,600 minutes in a year. (Yes, I found that out from a musical... thank you RENT.) That means... *pulls out calculator* 8,760 hours or 31,536,000 seconds!
